Question 1

Do you verify ownership before opening?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It's part of the job, not a formality. Photo ID and proof of address come first; the door is opened second. A locksmith who skips that question is a risk, not a shortcut.

Question 2

I am locked out of my car in Lakeland. Can you help without the original key?

Accepted Answer

Usually yes. We open most cars and cut and program a new key at the roadside, immobilizer matching included. The technician will want photo ID and proof the vehicle is yours first.

Question 3

Do you install deadbolts as well as repair locks?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Routine work includes installing deadbolts, replacing tired cylinders and fixing doors that never really locked. The technician inspects the door before saying what it needs.

Question 4

Can you work on apartments and rentals?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Lockouts, rekeys and mailbox locks in apartment buildings are regular work.

Question 5

Do I have to replace the locks, or can they be rekeyed?

Accepted Answer

In most cases yes. Rekeying leaves the lock in place and changes which key works it, the normal choice after moving in or losing a key. A new lock is only worth it when the existing one is worn out or damaged.

Question 6

I've lost my only house key. What now?

Accepted Answer

Call and say exactly that. It depends on the lock: open and rekey, or replace the cylinder and cut new keys on the spot. Whichever it is, you end up with keys that work.
